SHOP STAFF
We are looking for hard working, high energy, and personable applicants to add to our 2023 team.
Our fantastic Shop Staff help guests get to their tours, rent bicycles, perform minor bike repairs, and keep the shop running smoothly.
You are compassionate, patient, and have an unwavering sense of humour. Your warmth and dynamic personality shines through as you assist our guests have a great experience on their holiday. In short, you love being with people and people love being with you!
You must have an exceptional personality, superb communication skills, the ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, an interest in international travel, high integrity, and a large smile.
On top of all that, while we love sunny days, we operate in the howling wind and pouring rain. Whatever happens out there, we really shine when adversity comes knocking!
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Strong English and German language skills. Additional languages are an asset.
- Great customer service skills along with the ability to work both individually and in a team environment
- Computer literacy and POS experience
- Comfortable on and around bikes. While you are not expected to be a complete bike mechanic, you will be required to perform minor repairs, fixing flat tires, doubling bikes back to the shop, hanging bikes before and after tours, and much more.
- Flexibility and the willingness to work hard in the busy season including weekends
- A sound knowledge of Berlin and the tourism industry
- Working permissions in Germany. We offer seasonal contracts so you should be exceptionally motivated to work very hard during these summer months. We can only accept candidates who already possess either an EU passport, or German Work and Residence Permits.
TOUR GUIDE
We are looking for hard working, high energy, and good-natured people to add to our 2023 team.
No task is too large for our Tour Guides, who lead tours around the various parts of the city and its outskirts. Outside of tour times, guides work in our TV Tower Shop, helping ensure that operations run smoothly.
Our Guiding Staff wear many hats: guide, problem solver, conversationalist, leader, and general rock star! Guiding tours with us is an exciting position, demanding lots of cultural and historical knowledge and above all, extraordinary people skills. Those are the obvious qualifications, but no less important is the ability to work very flexible hours and have a strong sense of team pride. Previous work experience in education, theatre, or service sector work is a plus.
You must have an exceptional personality, superb speaking skills, the ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, an interest in international travel, high integrity, and a large smile.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Berlin and German history (applicable degree in history, German language, political science is preferred but not mandatory). What you do not yet know we can help teach you, but you should be very familiar with 20th Century German history. You should also be able to deliver this history in palatable stories our guests can grasp and take with them.
- Previous experience travelling to and living in Berlin. Please note that we only hire people who have spent considerable time in Berlin!
- Native-level English-speaker with a working knowledge of German. We prefer that you’re fluent, but you should at least be able to communicate with locals as you encounter them during the tour.
- Flexible work hours (weekdays, weekends, evenings), and complete availability throughout the entire summer, through the end of September.
- Humour! We want you to explain history in a way that keeps our guests’s attention and helps them understand what makes Berlin so unique. You should be an entertainer as well as a historian.
