Like other romance language-based cultures (Italy, France, etc.), Spanish culture is known for being romantic and prioritizing romantic love.
So, it’s no wonder that you’ll find lots of romantic places in the fair city of Barcelona. Below, we’ve outlined some of those most romance-filled locales. There are also many cozy Barcelona coffee shops in which to snuggle up next to your paramour (read our list of best coffee shops in Barcelona here).
If you’re heading to Barcelona, book a tour with us at Fat Tire Tours Barcelona! We have ample exciting tour options to explore the city with your partner at your side. Our Barcelona Night Bike Tour is a delightful way to experience the city in a romantic fashion, with the city lights all aglow and the nightlife coming alive before your very eyes.
The Barcelona Night Bike Tour also includes a dinner stop with traditional Spanish tapas. On this tour, you’ll also experience Barcelona highlights like the Columbus Monument, Port Vell, Plaça St. Jaume, the Raval Neighborhood, the Church of St. Paul de Camp, and much more.
Now, here are some of our favorite places to experience romantic vibes in the Catalonian capital.
View the Sunset at Bunkers Del Carmel
Most people don’t associate war with romance, but Bunkers Del Carmel is an outlier in that way. These Spanish Civil War Bunkers, which had anti-aircraft guns installed within the bunkers, offer a present-day incredible –– and romantic –– viewing point. Go to Bunkers Del Carmel to watch the sunset with your love. The panoramic views of the city here are breathtakingly beautiful and will inspire you.
If you want to soak in the sunset and really take your time to appreciate it, pack a bottle of wine, some cups, and a blanket. You and your partner can have your own private date watching the beauty of Barcelona from this historic hilltop with a 360-degree view.

Explore the Maze at Parc del Laberint d’Horta
Who doesn’t love an enticing maze? Here at Parc del Laberint d’Horta, one of the oldest gardens in the city, you can find the ideal setting for a hand-in-hand romantic stroll. Designed by a Spanish engineer in 1792, this park is intricately designed, and it’s a delight to experience. The gardens hidden areas are perfect for snogging with your partner, and the mythological sculptures feel exciting and otherworldly. These beautiful gardens will transport you and have you and your paramour feeling whimsical and maybe a bit magical, too.

Go Boating at Parc de la Ciutadella
At Barcelona’s famous Parc de la Ciutadella, rent a rowboat on the lake to take in a sunny day with your favorite person. The beautiful and serene ponds here offer lovely views in this El Born district-based park. You can rent a rowboat for a small amount and enjoy rowing around the pond here. For extra brownie points with your partner, maybe sing a song in Spanish or recite some Spanish poetry.

Take a Sunset Cruise
This is one of the pricier items on our list. But if you’re planning an extra-special occasion, like a romantic European proposal, this may be the perfect setting for it. What’s better and more exciting than splashing through the glittering Mediterranean Sea? Perhaps with a glass of bubbly in hand and with your ride-or-die at your side.
Hold Hands at the Magic Fountain
Built in 1929 for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc, situated at the head of Avinguda Maria Cristina (in Barcelona’s Montjuïc neighborhood), is one of the most famous sights in the city. During the summer months, Thursday to Sunday (and Friday to Saturday in non-summer months), the Magic Fountain pumps out jets of water with an incredible soundtrack and awesome lighting. The light and water show feels especially romantic at night when the sun goes down.

Stroll Through Old Town
Barcelona’s Old Town is the political and geographic center of the city and includes highlights like the Gothic Quarter and Barcelona Cathedral. Go through a walk together through these winding medieval streets and enjoy the beauty of aimless exploration. At night, Old Town brims with life and the area is lined with interesting restaurants, bars, and cafes. (Safety note: Keep your belongings closely guarded as pickpockets do operate in this area.)
Enjoy a Rooftop Concert at Gaudi’s Casa Batlló
From March through November, you can enjoy a nighttime visit at Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, a colorful and gorgeous mansion that is well worth a visit. It’s considered one of Antoni Gaudí’s prime masterpieces and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
On the roof, during warmer months, there’s live entertainment. Outdoor concerts on the roof are a fun experience to behold, and you’ll be treated to different genres (depending on the night), including blues, rock, and pop. You can purchase tickets on the website.
