Brandenburg Gate

Berlin’s triumphal arch marks the place of the city’s former city gate. Today, it serves as a picture perfect location for tourists and a central promenade between many embassies.

Today’s gate is more ceremonial than practical, however it once served as the entrance to Unter den Linden. Linden trees lines the boulevard leading to the Prussian Royal City Palace.

The arch today is a symbol of Germany’s divisive history and Europe’ reunification.
