Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
Also known as the Holocaust Memorial, this chilling architectural piece was complete in 2004. Commemorating the lives lost during World War II, the structure designed by Peter Eisenman uses concrete slabs of varying heights to depict individuals. There are 2,711 pillars, or stelae, in total. One can meander through the columns or simply observe from the edge.
