Sansoucci Palace
Inspired by the Palace of Versailles just outside Paris, France, Sansoucci Palace is equally stunning and magnificent. This chateau was commissioned by Friedrich II in 1745 as a summer home. The building would later be enlarged to include two more wings, following suit similar to many great palaces in Europe.
Luckily, Sansoucci was not damaged during World War II. Today it has earned the title of a UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s the perfect day trip from Berlin, and we would love to have you join us on our Gardens and Palaces of Potsdam Bike Tour to explore it more!
