Interested in designer decor, state of the art gadgetry, art, fashion, gastronomy? All of the above, perhaps? The much-coveted Foire de Paris comes to town at the end of the month, running from April 30th through May 11th, 2014. Held at the massive Porte de Versailles convention center in the city’s southern tip, the “Foire” is a noisy and crowded affair, but will surely tempt those of you who like to keep at the cutting edge of trends in design, cuisine, or arts.
This year, the massive trade show offers several distinctive areas catering to the interests mentioned above. These are:
World Cultures: Culturally omniverous and curious visitors will naturally flock to this space, dedicated to exploring the cultures, foods, and products of the world. Savory and sweet specialties, tableware, wines, and decorative objects abound, and special performances and “festivals” also feature in the program, including one dedicated to the tropics.
Home and Environment: If you’re looking to remodel or add some new decorative elements to your home, make sure to check out this area at the “Foire”. State-of-the-art gadgets and chic decorative objects and furniture abound here. And if you’re interested in consuming responsibly and reducing waste, you’re in luck: this year, a special area called “Secondvie” (second life) features recycled and ecologically friendly decorative objects, clothing, art, and more!
Fun, Leisure, and Wellbeing: Kids in tow? Take them here to keep them amused. Toys, games, and live demonstrations of products make this an interactive and fun space. For the adults, check out the beauty and wellbeing areas, where you’ll find a panoply of cosmetics, fragrances, and spa products/packages.
Fashion and accessories: Head to this area for clothing and accessories from local and world designers.
