Germans may not be rocking Halloween as well as some of their English-speaking counterparts (AMERICA!). However, if you happen to be in Berlin for this gruesome date there are a couple of options available to you.
For the Little Ones
We suggest ‘Halloween in Tierpark’. Walk around one of Berlin’s Zoo’s where there will be face painting, a haunted walk and fireworks. An interesting evening for the animals I’m sure.
Where: Tierpark Friedrichsfelde (U-Bahn Tierpark)
When: Saturday, October 31st (from 5pm)
Price: Kids €5, Adults €10
For the teens
We have the ‘Gruselkabinett’, a haunted house set in an authentic World War II Bunker. The younger ones can wander through the haunted house where all manner of tortures are on display. With live actors involved expect a good fright. Meanwhile the adults can stay safe in the cafe, where both drinks and ghost stories will be on offer. Prizes will be given to the best costumes.
Where: Berlin Bunker (Schönberger Strasse.23a – S-Bahn Anhalter Bahnhof
When: Saturday, October 31st (5pm – Midnight)
Price: Students €7, Adults €9
For the techno fiends
We have ‘Lila Voodoo Land in Ritterbutske’. One of Berlin’s coolest clubs will be getting it’s voodoo ritual on, with live DJ acts, as well all the voodoo dolls you can dream of. They have an in-house make-up stage so don’t worry if you are costume-free, they can make you look suitably terrifying.
Where: Ritterbutske (Ritter Strasse.24 – S-Bahn Prinzen Str)
When: Saturday, October 31st (from Midnight)
Price: €10
Tickets available at Reisdent Advisor Tickets
For the Grown-Ups
We have something pretty fancy. KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens/Department Store of the West) is the largest department store in Berlin, attracting around 40,000 visitors a day. The 6th and 7th floors are devoted to all things food and drink, with an area the size of two football fields stocked to the rafters with all things delicious.
For Halloween, and a measly €190, they open their doors for the evening and all food + drink is included in the price (the event is sponsored by Veuve Clicquot). Less monsters and witches, more Lobster and Caviar. Don your tux or ball-gown and get your glutton on. On each floor there is also live entertainment to be had. Get there before the start time, people tend to get there early so they don’t waste precious consuming time in the queue.
Where: Kadewe (Tauentzienstraße 21-24. U-Bahn Augsberger Str)
When: Saturday, October 31st (Doors open at 8.30pm)
Price: €190
